Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school's motto is Growing a Legacy. The children in my class will create a legacy through their talents and strengths.
The kindergarteners in my class are eager to learn and excited to try new things.
Their excitement is how their legacy will continue to grow!
I teach kindergarten and have 20 students in my class. Kindergarteners are a fun group of kids because they are so excited to try new things. It's so rewarding to hear a kindergarten say, "I did that by myself!"
My Project
Hands on learning is so important. Kids this age learn best by touching and manipulating the concepts. These activities will provide this hands on learning and integrate math and language skills at the same time. The materials provide concrete objects to help the students gain an understanding of the concept being taught. The math puzzles will help the students become aware that numbers are a pattern. The magnetic letter building activities will make students aware that print conveys a message.
The letter activities will help the students understand that letters and sounds make words, which then will lead to print awareness.
