This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are absolutely incredible kiddos, coming to our school from a diverse range of backgrounds. We have students that face homelessness, poverty, parents in rehabilitation programs and transient lifestyles, but they never stop working hard and persevering.

Our school is a Title I school, which means many of our students come from homes that make very little money, have parents who work long hours and can be a little chaotic.

To combat that, we strive to hold our students to very high standards while giving them a source of stability and emotional safety. Students know they are in a place where they are loved, valued and believed in.

My Project

We strive to reach our learners through all different modalities-visual, auditory and hands-on approaches appeal to different students. Hands-on learning, however, takes a TON of prep work and supplies.

Cardstock and laminating pouches will allow us to make centers and games for students to practice and review the skills we've taught them.

Playing these games will not only allow them to practice academic skills, but it will reinforce team building skills and foster independence as they move through the centers.

We have hundreds of games and activities to print out, ranging from task cards that will be used in whole-class review games, mystery 'escape rooms', matching games, QR code cards, board games, card games, etc. These supplies will make the difference in our room!
