In fifth grade, students come to us with a wide range of learning styles (visual, auditory, hands-on, etc.), as well as different academic needs. I have students working at a first grade level and students working at a middle school level. Rather than group them together for whole-class lessons, we're striving to incorporate more small group learning through centers. To do this, we need games and hands-on activities that help ease the students away from black and white worksheets. I have a HUGE arsenal of interesting activities to give the students to work on, but no way to print them! A color printer would allow both myself and the other fifth grade teacher to print our great activities for all types of learners at all different academic levels and use the laminating pouches to laminate them so they last for years. We can then place them at the centers or use them in small groups to keep students engaged in the content in ways that reach them. These activities would reach at least 50 students year after year, and would be applicable to all content areas as well as exciting new ways to teach, such as Escape Rooms and scavenger hunts. Thank you so much for considering a donation to our project. It truly is filled with materials that will be used year after year, affecting students in ways that will inspire them to embrace a love of learning. Fifth grade is a crucial year right before middle school, and we want to launch them on their path to learning with as many exciting resources as we can!
