My Students

My students live in the small rural community of Shepherd. They were hit hard by the storms. Many of the families in Shepherd lost their homes. Some of them are still trying to rebuild. Even through all their challenges they come to school with a big smile on their face.

My students are positive and enthusiastic.

Every morning I am greeted by smiling faces and big hugs. The love they have for learning inspires me to be a better teacher!

My students LOVE hands on learning. Lab is one of their favorite things to do. I try my best to provide them with quality real world lab activities that connect to the content being taught.

My Project

Students learn best when they are doing. Personally you can tell me how to do something a million times but until I do it myself I have not completely mastered the concept. The same is true for my students. I can tell them what they need to understand. I can show them what they need to understand, but nothing beats the excitement and long-term comprehension of hands-on “do it yourself”! Being able to build a working circuit and test the concepts of friction, gravity, magnetism, and density will give them a learning opportunity that will last a lifetime. My students will be able to do just that with the Learning Science Activity Tub and Weather Activity Tub.
