Hands On Learning In Preschool

My Students

My classroom is filled with 18 preschoolers who are creative, energetic, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on and engaging activities that allow them to think outside of the box. They come to school each day eager to learn and try new things in order to grow academically and personally. I love building individual meaningful relationships with each of my students, so they feel safe and confident in our learning environment. They are truly an inspiration to me!

Our preschool program uses a research based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning.

This allows the students to develop confidence, creativity and lifelong critical thinking skills. Students interests help guide my instruction. As an inclusive classroom, my teaching staff and I work to individualize instruction to ensure all students unique needs are met.

We are located in a small town in Iowa. Our preschool classroom is within the PK-6 elementary building. It is amazing to be a small part of helping little minds grow!

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will be used to expand students learning through play. Free choice play is an essential part of each day in our preschool classroom. My students are motivated to learn when the materials are novel and engaging.

During free choice play students are able to use their imagination and creativity.

These materials will provide students with opportunities to strengthen their early literacy, math and STEM skills. They will also have opportunities to engage with peers and build social skills when using these materials.

You can discover so much about a child while interacting with them and observing their play. The Magna-Tiles, magic writing boards, puzzles and number peg boards will allow my students to continue building their knowledge and skills and set them up for success.
