Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from low economic homes. Many of them are English language learners with little to no English exposure. Despite the hardships some go through, they still manage to walk into the classroom with smiles on their faces. When they enter my class they are curious and eager to learn!

Our school is 90% English Language Learners.

It is very unfortunate that due to their socioeconomic status, my students do not have the same opportunities that they strongly deserve to become successful leaders.

My Project

My students need more technology to be able to use in the classroom. We also want to integrate science through the butterfly life cycle.

Students learn best through hands on learning and experiences.

Getting the butterfly larva will allow students to witness and experience the butterfly life cycle first hand. They will go through all the stages. We will integrate this through reading, writing and science. I have done this in the past and the students love it!

We use a lot of technology in our classroom. We currently only have one iPad to use. Getting another iPad will allow the students more access to using it. Technology is a huge part of our daily lives and the students have learned so much through using it.
