My preschool students are 3 to 5 year olds and come to school eager to learn. My students come from low-income families who appreciate and value teachers. 100% of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. Coming to school to be greeted by smiling faces makes me love my job even more!
It is important to keep my preschoolers excited and passionate about learning new topics every day.
Preschool is the first step to creating a positive environment at school for children. It is a new transition and can be difficult to get used to. Luckily, I am part of a marvelous preschool team. We enjoy what they do and help create a warm, caring, and hands-on learning environment where our students feel free to explore through play every day in our classes.
My Project
My preschoolers are always asking me questions about why leaves are changing colors and falling. They are full of curiosities about nature and why things around them are always changing. They wonder about how plants grow and how flowers and vegetation come about. I have read many picture books to help them understand this process but what better way to learn about this garden is to do it ourselves. This garden planter, gardening tools and watering can will give us a boost in the right direction.
Teaching young children to learn to plant, take care and love nature and our Mother Earth is a great investment for my students' brighter future.
All my students will not only learn how plants grow, but they will learn how to take care of these plants and what it takes to keep them alive. Science is all about watching things happen before you. After giving them the right tools and knowledge, my students will plant, nurture, and prune their garden all by themselves.
My students in my classroom do not get this type of opportunity at home and it is always nice to give them these opportunities while at school. Most importantly, giving them hands-on learning experiences will help them stay engaged and active in their learning.
