My Project

In a special education classroom, hands-on learning makes a huge difference. Tools like magnetic letter tiles and magnetic numbers give students something they can touch and move, which helps them really understand how letters and numbers work. Instead of just hearing or seeing information, students get to build words and solve problems in a way that sticks with them. These kinds of materials help make learning fun and meaningful—especially for students who need extra support to stay engaged.

Small group work is also a big part of how our classroom runs.

With the collaborative table, students can gather together to use flashcards, word games, or sight word activities like the word dominoes or Hot Dots cards. They learn from each other, talk through their thinking, and build confidence as they go. It’s amazing to see how much progress kids make when they feel like they’re part of a team—and when they’re excited to try new things.

I’m also working hard to bring more STEM learning into our classroom. Materials like alphabet tiles and dot markers help spark creativity and introduce early problem-solving skills. These tools make science an d math approachable, especially for young learners who might struggle in more traditional lessons. With the right resources, we can open the door to future careers—and show our students that they’re capable of amazing things. Your support helps us build that path, one hands-on activity at a time.
