My Students

Most of my students who attend our elementary school live in the neighborhood. Some children attend our school from other areas, and they are on a permit to do so. Each day we all join together in our Morning Meeting to set the climate in our classroom for the day.

My third grade students are eager to learn each day when they enter my classroom!

They love hands on experiences! They are excited to see what we are going to be learning. Even though COVID-19 has been a part of most of their elementary school experience and has impacted their intellectual, social, and emotional learning, they are happy to be in our classroom.

My students love to share and learn together. They are eager for a challenge and to try something new that will keep them engaged. As we learn together, we build a successful learning environment.

My Project

These resources will help my students with reading and spelling, math, and science. These materials will allow my students to have their own supplies to strengthen their learning and understanding of key concepts in third grade.

Hands on experiences are more engaging!

Everyone loves to have their own materials to participate in an activity. These materials will allow my students to have their own mirror to see how the sounds are formed in their mouths for spelling, to have their own number lines to better understand fractions, and to have their own tweezers for science.

The books will help my students escape into an imaginary world away from the effects of COVID-19. The power pens will help my students review key math skills and practice new math skills. The tweezers and magnets will allow my students to have their supplies to help with germ transmission during a pandemic. The various math manipulatives will allow students to experience their own hands on learning experience. The mirrors and magnet wands and chips will be used for reading and spelling instruction using the Elkonin boxes method along with training from LETRS so students can see how sounds are made in their mouths. These materials will help students progress in the learning that may have been missed because of the effects of COVID-19.
