My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful, and curious about the real world they are about to enter! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to learn new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.

Many students in my classroom struggle learning new material by just reading.

Rather they learn by doing hands on projects and simulations.

Our school is located in the northwest corner of Connecticut, which has now become a diverse town with students of many different ethnic backgrounds and different degrees of background knowledge.

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and differentiated learning to ensure that each student's needs are met. My students are truly an incredible group, and I am so thankful to be able to create a learning community with them.

My Project

These games will continue to enhance the student centered classroom that I strive to create. My classroom is a place that my students really enjoy! This is due in large part to interactive lessons and activities I strive to create for my students daily. Every student starts my course unsure and with little knowledge about American government.

With these new games, my students will be able to evaluate and create new understandings of the key principles of the American government.

They will also be able to apply what they have learned in the classroom. The best way to increase knowledge is have hands on experiences in the classroom and these games will continue to help my students grow stronger as lifelong learners. My students already have shown great interest in the Constitution and this project will only help enrich this passion.
