My Project

In my Teen Health class, I believe that health education should empower students to be active citizens. Currently, we learn about the heart and safety through textbooks, but theory cannot save a life. My students need the opportunity to practice high-stakes skills in a safe, student-centered environment.

I am requesting CPR manikins and an AED trainer to launch our Experiential Lifesaving Lab.

This project is a perfect example of experiential learning because students will move beyond passive listening to active, hands-on simulation.

Through inquiry-based learning, students will investigate the science of blood circulation and the mechanics of the heart. They will engage in role-playing scenarios, simulating real-life emergencies where they must make split-second decisions and perform high-quality CPR.

This interactive lab will bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world applications, giving my students the confidence to be first responders in our community. By transforming our classroom into a lifesaving simulation center, we are providing a unique, student-centered experience that goes far beyond basic classroom materials.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
