This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are eager to learn and know more. However, there are not enough materials in my class for them to enjoy hands on activities which will help them learn more efficiently.
My students are fourth graders who are performing on mixed abilities levels.
They range anywhere from a first grade reading level to a fifth grade reading level. Our school is an older school in Mississippi, and is on the verge of struggling. Many students are on free or reduced lunch. They love learning, and want different ways to learn.
My Project
I am requesting these games for the classroom, because I would love for them to be used during centers to reinforce the skills that I have already taught in the classroom. This will also help my inclusion students because I am requesting the games on a lower level. Since I only teach Reading, and English, I requested games that will reiterate text structures, which the students have trouble with the most. I am also requesting some English games such as Punctuation Bingo, and Parts of Speech Bingo. These games will continue to teach the skills that are essential for doing well on our state tests.
My project is important because my students are very hands on, and like to move around the class, and talk with one another.
This will give them an opportunity to do that, while also learning.
