My students are sweet 4th graders who are willing to learn, and love to read. I have a very mixed abilities class ranging from students performing on a first grade level, to those performing on a sixth grade level. Our school is about 50 years old, and quite outdated. The school is in a low income area, with most of my students coming from subsidized housing. Only a few of my students have a two parent home with supportive parents. They have not had many life experiences such as trips, or the knowledge of other places.
