This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember playing house and setting a table with a plastic play set of dishes?

My students are active imaginative students who love to learn by playing.

They live in a high poverty area of an expensive region where multiple families live in a home or apartment just to make ends meet. All the students at our school receive a free breakfast and lunch each school day.

My Project

The play house area in our classroom is a favorite spot. The students love to set up a store, cook, and play house. This small table set will be a perfect addition to the kitchen. The children will set the table with their plastic plates and cups and pretend to have a family dinner or party. They will have conversations and discussions and role playing opportunities they don't have now. Another favorite area is our science area. The clear evidence jars will be perfect for collecting and examining samples. The children will be able to see, shake, and observe a variety of materials with these plastic jars.

Your donation will provide wonderful conversations around a table and opportunities to learn through play.

You will enhance my students' curiosity by providing them with hands on evidence jars they can pick up and use safely. Your support will help create delightful child centered learning areas for many children.
