My students need hands-on activities that allow exploration of their environment. The light panel and manipulatives will allow our students to explore and discribe light, colors, and shadows.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our class is a collaborative preschool classroom in a Title I school. The class consists of a mixture of special needs and general education students in a literacy rich program. Due to the high level of low income students, the entire school receives free breakfast and lunch.
Our students flourish with hands-on activities and opportunities to explore their environment.
We try to provide them these opportunities as often as possible but sometimes furnishing materials for these activities can be challenging. Any assistance in this goal is greatly appreciated!
My Project
Our students learn best with hands-on play, engaging exploration, and experimentation. This light panel will allow our students to see the world in a fun and exciting way and manipulatives sets will allow for variety in exploration.
These materials will encourage imagination, communication, and cooperation for all our students including our English as a Second Language students and children with disabilities.
We have seen how motivating students find light panel exploration and would like to provide them daily opportunities. Students will work on fine motor, language, and social emotional skills in addition to the learning taking part in these activities.
