This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Spanish to middle school students. I love how my students are passionate about learning a new language and about new cultures! I love to watch them progress through the years and become more proficient and confident.

My students are super proud of themselves when they realize just how much they can communicate in a second language.

I focus on teaching with comprehensible input so my students have the opportunity to acquire language in a natural progression. Watching my students acquire Spanish in a fun and engaging way is just awesome!

My Project

The first project that I published had such an amazing response that I would love to do it with both 7th and 8th grade students! I already have most of the materials from the first project that I submitted, so now all I need is additional masks.

After learning about the meaning behind El día de los muertos, students will have the opportunity to create a mask in the likeness of a loved one lost.

Students will learn how to visually represent a person's likes, hobbies and accomplishments through art.
