Hand Puppets for Every Child

Help me give my students diverse hand puppets so that all students can see themselves as the hero of the story.

My Project

Kids need expressive tools that they can connect with. My students range from advanced learners to special needs non-verbal kids, ages 4-12. This is also an ethnically diverse population.

These inclusive hand puppets will give them creative story skills where they are the hero, they are the writers and they can see themselves in the spotlight.

I cannot emphasize enough how empowering it is for a child to get a puppet that looks like them and is the hero of the story. This, for some, is the first moment where they see themselves as the doctor, the police officer, the force for good. That realization is priceless.
