My Students

Singing, dancing, jumping, laughing, and learning are a few verbs that describe the welcoming atmosphere you will see daily in our classroom and virtually. Our ParentAware, four-star rated pre-kindergarten classroom has been running for 16 years and is ready for updated materials and furnishings.

The amazing children in our classroom deserve clean, high-quality educational materials that are visually appealing and safe to use daily.

Eighty-three percent of the students at my building qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. One of the honors I have, as the lead teacher, is that I get to collaborate with the families of our students. I get to help ensure their child’s first experience in school is a positive one! Many of my students are English language learners. I work to incorporate their home languages into our environment and routines. Our young students have the opportunity to learn through play and guided discoveries both inside and outside. From day one, all of our students learn mindful strategies for understanding their emotions, handling disappointments and disagreements. We do this by using games, solution kit cards, a breathing ball, a chime, role-playing, and lots of practice, of course.

My Project

The assortment of glitter, Epoxy Resin Kit, letter beads, and resin alphabet mold will help me make numbers and letters to use in our classroom. I would love to inspire our students by allowing them to select the glitter, color, and mixture combinations for me to make epoxy resin letters and numbers.

Our students would love hunting for these beautiful, durable letters and numbers in our sensory bin as part of a letter and number hunt.

Our students will be able to use these letters and numbers to trace, identify, practice one-to-one correspondence, and support my creativity in our classroom.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
