This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

With the growth in technology, my students need the opportunity to handle tablets and access the world with their fingertips. I would love to give them the chance to travel the world, read e-books, and research important people in history from their desk.

My students are eager to learn and love seeing pictures from my travels around the world.

Whenever they hear of a new country or landmark, they ask me to show them what it looks like over there. Most of my students are of Latino cultures, so exposing them to other countries and cultures has been my goal this school-year.

My Project

My students will use these tablets to read e-books, do research, and learn how to manipulate a tablet. I will download e-books about the theme that we are learning for them to explore and learn. Students will learn how to browse the Internet and research topics such as different countries, various holidays from around the world, and important historical figures.

Being able to use a tablet will provide students an additional resource to technology.

We visit the computer lab once a week, so by having these tablets in the classroom, I hope to be able to offer them more time to search for topics of interest. This is also a way to have students learn how to look up the things we read about in books instead of me simply showing them on the teacher computer. Students will also become more proficient in using technology.
