Hand drums for Little Hands

Help me give my students quality instruments to play as they explore movement, sound, and artistry. Hand drums are an age appropriate instrument for young students to immediately be successful as they can accompany the ensemble.

My Students

My school is a choice school which strives to teach our students how to be leaders and highly effective people based on the principles of Stephen Covey's Leader In Me. My students are diverse learners from a variety of ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds.

Many of my students come from challenging backgrounds and homes often causing students difficulty learning and behaving in a typical classroom setting.

Nevertheless, all of my students are creative, inquisitive, and energetic. They are in need of creative outlets, engaging activities, and 21st century skills.

My Project

All students love to play drums.

Whether students are "musical" or not, they can find success from playing a drum.

I can create a variety of musical opportunities for students to explore sound, movement, timbre, and musicality through these hand drums.

The benefit of these types of drums is that they are developmentally appropriate for young students as most children do not have the fine or gross motor skills to play a complete drum set. Hand drums also allow opportunities for multiple students to play at the same time giving them equal opportunities to make have a turn to music.
