This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My K-5 students have been greatly enjoying our set of handbells. Unfortunately, with only one bell for each pitch, only 5-12 students are able to play at a time. A second set would allow more students to perform at the same time. Additionally, it would give more variety in the creation of a bell choir club, something I am very interested in doing during the 2024-2025 school year.

Handbells would bring a beautiful, musical sound into our class that the younger students could learn to play relatively easily.

They have the same colors and pitches as our existing boomwhackers and can be easily incorporated into our existing pitched activities.
