Additionally, we have identified students who had perfect attendance for the first half of the school year. These students got to choose a prize from what we receive from our donors. We held a \"walk of fame\" to recognize these students as well, where they got to parade around the school while everyone else cheered them on. Last year, most of my students were able to perform 1-to-1 with ukuleles. This project gets my classes one step closer to every student being able to perform on an instrument without having to share.\r\n\r\nThe ukulele has proven to be the highlight of my music program. Every single third through fifth grade class overwhelmingly loved learning to play on the instruments last year. That excitement has continued and I've been fielding questions for months about when we start our ukulele unit this year.
