My Project

My students are preparing to explore one of the most influential works in English literature: Hamlet. To ensure that every student can fully engage with this challenging and rewarding text, I am requesting a class set of traditional copies of Hamlet along with a class set of Hamlet in graphic novel format.

Shakespeare's language can be difficult for many students, especially those who are developing readers, English language learners, or students who benefit from visual supports.

By providing both the original text and a graphic novel adaptation, students will have multiple pathways to access the story, analyze complex themes, and build confidence in their reading skills.

The traditional edition of Hamlet will allow students to work directly with Shakespeare's language, examining literary devices, character development, symbolism, and themes that remain relevant today. The graphic novel version will serve as a powerful companion resource, helping students visualize key scenes, understand plot developments, and connect more deeply with the characters and conflicts.

Having a class set of both formats ensures that all students can participate in meaningful discussions, collaborative activities, and close reading exercises. This combination of resources supports diverse learning needs while fostering a love of literature and critical thinking.
