My Students

The freshman class of our school is a pretty large and diverse group of students. Our student body comes from every socio-economic setting. Some students have access to the technology they need while many come to school without.

To be effective learners students must have access to technology.

In 9th grade students are exposed to different genres of literature and learn to analyze the text critically. With internet access we can reach far and wide to find various types of text no found in an old dusty textbook.

My Project

Are we really writing again today? Yes! It's English class, not food science! This is a common exchange in my class that has become a regular joke. While my students might complain, they know their skills are building and they are proud of what they have accomplished this year.

We read, analyze, write and create.

My students need more filler paper, pencils, colored paper and folders to store their masterpieces. We have manybdeadlines coming in the new year so a wall calender is needed to keep each class on track. Students will be putting portfolios together and will want to make them colorful and creative.
