Habitats Come Alive

Help me give my students some Crayola Air Dry Clay and paint brushes to make their habitat science projects and models come alive based on their research.

My Students

My diverse students live in low income areas with multiple siblings in one household.

With proper resources, my students will stay engaged, improve learning and have a creative outlet.

We are a strong caring school community and help support one another by practicing these virtues: responsibility, respect, and safety.

My Project

After researching and reading books about an animal of choice, students will write informational reports about its habitat, dwelling, attributes, food source and adaptations.

To accompany their research reports, students will create their animal habitat project-model with the clay, brushes and chalk as they learn more facts.

Hands on learning helps students solidify what they read and see in photographs.

They will be more motivated to complete their research report while they add details to their individual habitats. They will display their completed habitats in our classroom which will promote a sense of pride after giving a brief presentation.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
