My Students

My students are rock stars — literally! Our community has a uniquely high level of appreciation for music. This passion carries right into our schools and classrooms, as our marching band boasts nearly 300 members. Students in my classes are passionate about music technology, engineering, and performing in the community. We offer them opportunities to learn career-based applications of their talents and passions in music and the arts, areas that are too often cut from school programs. Our students themselves have pioneered an incredible non-traditional contemporary performing ensemble that mirrors the passion seen in our community's thriving music scene.

These students perform music with skill, dedication, and enthusiasm for various local charity events and our many large annual music and arts festivals.

Our high school is one of the top ten most diverse high school in our state. With our vast cultural and economic diversity, our district leads a bold mission to provide equity and equality for students of all walks. Our student-centered vision is to foster in all of our students a sense of passion and purpose. The students in our music program absolutely embody that vision.

My Project

We've received some amazing instruments from the wonderful donors here at DonorsChoose.org. Our students are already making amazing music with them. We want to take the best care possible of these instruments, so that our students can enjoy them for generations to come.

I am requesting hardshell cases for our new guitars and basses, which will protect them from damage during storage and transportation to our live shows, and stands to keep them safe during use.
