Help me give my students storage bins for guided reading books, dry erase clipboards, and other materials needed to make guided reading successful each day!
I teach second grade in a rural community. I teach the sweetest and most amazing students. They come to school with a positive attitude and they are ready to learn. My school is a Title I school, where all students receive free breakfast and lunch. Several of my students live at or below the poverty line and many of them cannot afford the necessary items they need to become successful learners. They come to class ready to learn despite their situation.
My students are book-loving, avid readers, and enthusiastic learners.
They absolutely love reading stations and independent reading time. It is so rewarding to see their growth throughout the year!
My Project
Guided Reading is an essential part of our day in second grade. This project will give my students the materials they need to have successful stations each day. Book bins will help my students store their leveled readers. Students will be able to use the dry erase clipboards daily as they rotate through stations. The dry erase easel will be used to display word work each day. When students come to the guided reading table, they will have dry erase dots to answer questions and a pouch full of supplies to find text evidence!
Guided reading is the most important part of our day and my students need new supplies to help them become successful readers.
My students love to read! They love reading passages, taking notes on sticky notes, and using highlighters to mark text evidence. Dry erase boards are an awesome way to save paper! Donations to this project will help my students become amazing readers!
