My Students
My kindergarteners are as young as four years old. The class is a mixture of general education and special education students. We are a Title I school, which means our need is great. Despite their hardships, my children come to school every day to learn and gain new experiences.
Kindergarten is an exciting, yet challenging time for my young scholars.
They are learning how to read, write, count, and so much more. We have our work cut out for us. With a little help, we can do it.
My Project
Exposing the children to a variety of texts will ensure early reading success. Studies show that children who read early are more successful throughout their academic career. I'm trying to prepare my students for academic excellence by providing books and ample opportunity for guided reading .
The guided reading books need to be on the children's level as well as engaging.
These carefully picked books will allow the children to grow as readers and stay engaged while reading.
Guided reading is a very important period during the day. The children work in small groups to improve their reading strategies and vocabulary. By donating to this project, you are making guided reading more fun and engaging for all the students.
