Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These fabulous bilingual third grade students come to school each day eager to learn all we can offer here in this rural school district.
These young scholar's dedication to their education is unquestionable.
Our district has our school set up as the bilingual magnet for the two neighboring schools, meaning some kiddos spend upward of an hour on the school bus each way, each day! They want to learn, and I need help getting them caught up to their native English speaking peers' performance level.
My Project
Being in the classroom is not only mentally demanding, but also physically straining for some of our more active kiddos. We take movement based brain breaks, we have whole class, small group, and individual desk seating, we switch literacy stations several times during class to keep it going.
8 and 9 year old kiddos can better focus their minds while their body is allowed to move around in a manner that is minimally distracting to peers with different learning needs.
Having a set of these Kore Wobble Chairs would allow for students to choose their best seating needs for learning in each area of the classroom without the stigma of being the only one or two that need that "special" seat. Having 8 would allow for all students to get to use these as a part of available classroom seating.
