My Students

My students at WS are such enthusiastic learners. I have students at every level in reading and math who are excited to learn whatever they can get their hands on. No matter what these pandemic impacted years have thrown at them, my students always come back hungry for more learning.

My second graders come from a variety of backgrounds.

Some have been read to growing up and have developed a love of reading and learning from a very young age. Others are just discovering the joy of reading and learning now. We are hoping to develop more comprehension and decoding skills in reading, and more critical thinking skill in math this year with our small group time.

My Project

I have requested some organization items for our classroom to better stock and organize a classroom library with books to support my student's love of reading and resilience during these hard times for learning. The books requested support growth mindset and will help me teach my students the power of their mind.

Whiteboards and headphones will be excellent tools to support at home learning.

The students also currently lack quality cubbies to store all the work coming to and from school. Math manipulative will be a great support to solidify concepts that are too easily lost between breaks in learning due to the pandemic.
