Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Next school year, I am switching grades. I'lI be teaching twenty-four first graders. I look forward to teaching them developmentally appropriate curriculum that blends social and emotional experiences with academic learning. I want to prepare my students future success.

Our school's mission is to empower learners to thrive in the 21st century.

Our school serves a large population of English Language Learners with diverse backgrounds. It is a Title I school and all of the students receive free breakfast and lunch.

My Project

My first grade students need growth mindset books to learn about their brain, how it works and how it can improve. These books would be a great addition to our classroom library. Students can enjoy them during read alouds and independent reading.

Teaching children about growth mindset is important because it teaches them to work hard and to never give up.

I want my students to believe in themselves and always try their best. These books will provide examples of characters that try their best and persevere through challenges. Students will get motivated and work hard to accomplish their first grade goals.
