My Students

With over 75% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunches, many of my students don't have access to everyday technology and advances. My students come from working- and lower-class families that often do not have the money for the latest gadgets.

With so much structure and focus on testing and standards, students need the time to let loose and let their creative juices flow.

Regardless of their situations in life, my students want to play with the newest gadgets and toys. They deserve the chance to learn and the opportunity to explore. They are eager to explore, to create, and to break into the world of science, technology, engineering, and math!

My Project

FarmBot is well suited to growing a polycrop of many common garden veggies at the same time. With the Express Kits students will design a mobile garden which they cultivate.

With a FarmBot kit students can plan, design, and grow their own crops in the classroom!

This miniature kit will be used in our classroom and students will not only research and design what to plant, they will build the stand, put together the farmbot, and control the system using coding skills.

Students will graphically design their farm by dragging and dropping plants into the map. The game-like interface is learned in just a few minutes so you’ll have the whole growing season planned in no time.
