Help me give my students " micro:bits, pocket-sized computers that introduce them to software and hardware that work together. With LED light displays, buttons, sensors, and inputs/outputs we can use code to raise veggies in our urban classroom.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Growing fruits and vegetables in the classroom take our middle schools on a field trip to the farm without leaving the school. But we can need to track the nutrients, temperature, H2O, and sunlight to meet the varying needs of tomatoes, peas, beans, and more.

We can learn to code the micro: bit to measure those needs and tell us when to water, feed, and move to the correct sunny spot in the classroom.

We can even make the micro:bit sing to the plants as they grow. Tomatoes, peas, and beans! Oh my!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
