Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These supplies will be used to teach students about seed starting in our growing school garden. With the help of Donors Choose we were able to get several raised garden beds. Now the students want to learn all about how to start vegetable and herb seeds through winter sowing outside so we can have a bountiful harvest of plants in the upcoming growing season.

We'll start the seeds in the seed planting trays, and use the covers to project our young seedling that we mark with the plant labels.

No garden is complete without something to attract our feathered friends! The students will love learning about birds as they visit the feeder we put in a place everyone in the school can enjoy. Students in my classroom and in our afterschool Garden Club will work on this project.
