Growing Scientists: Creating a Butterfly Garden Classroom

My Project

My Pre-K students are naturally curious about the world around them, especially insects and plants. I want to create a butterfly garden that allows students to observe the full life cycle of butterflies while also learning how to care for living things.

Through this project, students will explore science concepts such as life cycles, habitats, and pollination in a hands-on and meaningful way.

They will watch caterpillars transform into butterflies and then release them into a garden they helped create.

This project will also support outdoor learning by giving students opportunities to explore nature, build responsibility, and develop a love for the environment. Our butterfly garden will become a lasting learning space that can be used year after year.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
