My Project

As an intervention specialist, it is important for me to help my kids learn how to love reading. This involves showing them really interesting books that inspire them to work hard during our reading lessons. I am seeking to grow my spotlight book collection (books that I rotate depending on theme and season).

I am in need of more books so that I can rotate my spotlight collection more often.

My students work hard to learn how to read, but at the basic letter sound and word level, sometimes they tire of the decodable books that help them build skills. Real books with vivid pictures, people that look like them, and interesting topics capture their attention and have them begging to read more and more.

It brings me so much joy when kids choose to look at books during their down time or ask to stay a bit longer, get comfy, and listen to a new book.
