I have already noticed improvements in eye contact, communication, and participation when these items are incorporated into our daily routines. Other materials, such as the pencil-top chewies and seat spin disks, have been wonderful tools for supporting students' ability to remain comfortable and engaged while working at the table.\r\n\r\nThese materials have given my students new ways to meet their sensory needs while creating a more supportive environment for learning and participation. Students are wanting to come in the classroom, eat their breakfast, and immediately grab their favorite book to read. I have viewed reading data and students are advancing in reading fluency, comprehension, and the ability to recall details of the reading material. \r\n\r\nThe top favorites are the \"No David\" series, the \"Bad Guys\" series, and \"Dog Man\". Students have asked to take books home to keep reading (I say \"yes\" every time) and to purchase more books.
