My Students

Our school is comprised of fifth and sixth grade students. Within our town all students from the elementary level come together for the first time in fifth grade.

This group seeks to bring gardening experiences to enrich the curriculum of our school and to create activities that will support friendships between our special needs students and their non-disabled peers.

Our project has the ability to reach our entire student population of at least 750 students through outdoor activities, lessons, and hands-on learning.

My Project

At our elementary school we've come a long way in developing our outdoor classroom. What started as an overgrown courtyard has turned into a place of learning. As we look towards the spring, the garden committee would like to further its pursuits to bring the outdoors into our lesson plans and continue to teach with hands-on learning activities.

We are in need of some items to help our outdoor space thrive.

We are asking for some gardening tools and some cooking tools to aid in our culinary creations from the vegetables we grow. We can't wait to see what our students can create with this added support.
