My Project

Second-grade students are at a critical stage in their reading journey. They are transitioning from learning to read to reading to learn, and having access to books they love can make all the difference.

Our classroom library is one of the most important spaces in our room.

It provides students with opportunities to explore new topics, discover favorite authors, and develop a lifelong love of reading. However, since this is my first year to teach second grade, our current collection does not include enough high-interest, diverse, and engaging books to meet the needs of every reader.

With your support, we will add a variety of books that appeal to different reading levels, interests, and backgrounds. These books will be used daily during independent reading, literacy centers, partner reading, and small group-instruction.

The books from this project will help create a welcoming library where every child can find a book they are eager to open.

Your generosity will help put hundreds of books into the hands of young readers and foster a love of learning that will last far beyond second grade. Thank you for helping us grow a community of enthusiastic, confident readers.
