This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students live in an urban area where they do not have backyards and places to experience gardening.

I would like to create a garden in our classroom where children can learn to grow their own food.

I would like to provide children with a variety of books that will inspire them to grow their own garden and food. Reading books allows children to explore a variety of new topics and learn new vocabulary.

The materials in this project would allow children to experiment with a variety of indoor gardening methods.
