My Project

The items I am requesting will help my students get a hands-on experience with seeing how to move from seed to food. Food insecurity is a real problem in the world today, especially in areas where there are little to no jobs. My students can learn that farming/gardening can happen right in their own backyard and that they have the opportunity to be a part of the solution for their own family, neighbors, and community. Learning farming/gardening practices is also a great way for students to connect with the idea that food waste issues can be solved by growing what's needed instead of buying too much and tossing the rest out (a problem that contributes to food insecurities for others).
