Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My project has two main components. Both are student centered. The goal of my project is to help my students become not only proficient readers that are on-level but also children that are excited to read.

The first thing I am asking for are high interest multi-leveled book sets for guided reading groups.

These books are both fiction and nonfiction and are books that students have expressed interest in. They are not mass produced leveled texts but well regarded writing from known authors.

I am also trying to build my classroom library. Many of my students do not have the resources to have books at their home. They are only allowed to check out one book from our school library. The most books they see and touch come from my personal classroom library. I want to provide as many engaging diverse books as possible for them to read.
