My students are a wonderful group of young explorers. Their innate curiosity and joy in discovery makes the classroom a lively, engaging space and motivates me to do everything I can to give them a strong foundation in learning. My students largely come from a low socioeconomic background, and nearly all are emergent English speakers.
Unfortunately, the amount of high quality learning materials in our classroom is a poor match for the enthusiasm and potential to be found there.
Having a largely ELL populated classroom means that my students are learning English as well as basic literacy and math. They benefit greatly from high quality multimodal materials. Given that we are a Title I school, our resources are severely limited. Over the past few years our community of donors have helped to create classrooms that transcend these economic limitations, and have allowed our children and teachers the benefit of the highest quality learning resources and materials from art supplies to new libraries to robotics. Truly, we have seen the maxim 'if you can dream it, you can do it' come to life in our classrooms.

My Project
Right now I have a room teeming with avid readers who are gobbling up every leveled book at their disposal.
The problem: While my classroom is now fairly well stocked with the early readers, my readers themselves are now at a point where they need books that present more of a challenge, yet are not too hard either; in other words, they need leveled guided reading books.
I have assembled some great text sets for this project in the reading level areas that are the most scarce in my classroom.
Please consider giving these readers some 'just right' books to grow on.
