Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Green Days! Green plants can help my students to be relaxed and focused while they are learning. As we all know the color green provides calmness to our minds and vision. If a green classroom could enhance my students' learning, then I would like to make my classroom GREEN!

Our school is Title I.

It means that many of my students are from low-income families, and they get support in various areas to achieve their educational goals. When we do an art projects, some of my students cannot afford their own materials. Some of these students have not had many chances to explore nature, such as going hiking or camping.

My Project

I would like to have a table in my classroom with various plants in order to motivate students to engage in Earth Science, especially dealing with ecosystems. I do offer various science experiments throughout the year, but I do not think that my students have enough experience dealing with living things. Hopefully, watering and taking care of the plants would teach my students to be more responsible and appreciate the natural world.

As a teacher, I would love to provide a classroom with lots of centers where students can experience different things without a fear of failure.

Hopefully, providing a green classroom would allow me to create an environment where my students can relax, appreciate nature, and concentrate better in a peaceful environment. I would like to see my students eager to come into the classroom and to be excited about learning.
