Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my classroom range from 9th to 12th grade. I teach AVID, Oklahoma History and Financial Literacy. We encompass a large variety of learners, including English Language Learners and students with disabilities. They continue to meet and surpass expectations.

These students are hard and dedicated workers, that push themselves to achieve excellence.

They come from a low socioeconomic area and overcome obstacles that many students their age never imagine. They continue to amaze me in their dedication to education and the community at large.

My Project

Avid is a program designed to help my students become post graduate ready for the next phase of life. We begin in the 9th grade setting goals to help each student succeed. These items will help house the supplies I have acquired for projects. The stapler and paper cutter will come in handy for our writing projects and presentations. Finally, the shredder is to help protect the identity of my students if they have work that needs to be discarded. I want to make sure that no one ever has to worry about someone else finding and using their work.
