My Students

Summer robotics camp, can you believe that it is time to prepare and plan this out? We are putting robots and computers to the test with a loan of equipment from Texas Instruments to prepare for summer 2020. Last year, we held our first Lego robotics camp with amazing results. Upperclassmen became interested in coding and our coding classes have been a grand success. Younger students in grades 6-9 have already informed us that they are coming back to camp this year. Parents have contacted us, too. The children are excited and ready to do this and we are too!

We are in need of computers to run our Lego robots but we are, also, in need of Texas Instruments Innovator Rovers for use during our Summer 2020 Perfect Vision Camp.

The Lego Camp is in phase 2 but the Texas Instruments Camp is in its first year. Help us make Monroe County robot excited and engineering ready by helping us acquire the TI Innovator Rovers.

My Project

Project based learning is essential to student growth in my classroom. Anything that I can do to make my students realize that math is alive, technology is our friend and STEM is the way of the future is important to me. Our needs are great. Not only do we need computers but we need robots and more.

The future lies in the hands of our children--we must prepare them for a life with computers on their wrists, computers in their phones, computers at home and at work.

My children in rural southeast Tennessee deserve that opportunity as much as any other child in the United States.
