This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a very diverse 2nd grade classroom with a wide variety of backgrounds. We are a Title 1 school. There are a variety of learning styles and needs that I do my very best to meet.
Although we may vary in our learning styles and abilities, we all share a love of learning and making our environment as fun and interactive as possible.

My Project
We are in need of many specific books for use in our anchor lessons for shared reading in our classroom. These books will support whole class lessons, small groups, partner talks and response to reading journals. All of these books are meant to support specific lessons that will teach a variety of skills from retelling a story, finding main ideas and details, identifying cause and effect, comparing and contrasting stories and finding facts and opinions. Some books will also be used to support our classroom library so students can read more from a favorite author or topic. All students would greatly benefit from these wonderful books!
