Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The research on Gratitude is clear. Thankfulness promotes resiliency and healthy students have increased achievement. Give my students the ability to increase their academic skills by increasing their well-being. Having students and their teachers actively work on their wellness with markers for a few minutes a day by writing on post it notes will show amazing results. This positive self-concept and resiliency will also safeguard my students against some of the negative things that can happen in an urban community. The ink will allow us to print these thankful messages for cards and other forms of gratitude.
Showing gratitude is powerful, especially in written form.
"Thank you for being the best mom ever." "Thank you for helping me through a hard time.” "I appreciate your friendship." These are some of the statements students could write to others. I also plan to implement the books on gratitude in our classroom. The ink will be used to print activities and students' writing on gratitude. Support us in giving our children the tools they need to increase their wellness and their achievements.
