My students need four graphing calculators to realize how important graphs are in real life and how to interpret them with confidence.

My Students

Have you ever looked at a graph and not known how to read it? Have you ever been asked to create a graph and then explain it to an audience? Graphing calculators will help my students realize how helpful and easy graphs can be.

We are a middle school, grades 6 to 8.

We are a public school in California. We have about 650 students and are one of the smaller middle school in our district. We provide instruction to students of various abilities. My students are 8th graders who are aspiring for new ways to learn and to be more prepared for high school.

My Project

With these four graphing calculators, my students will be more able to compete and be prepared for the rigor of high school mathematics classes. They will be able to enter high school feeling more confident with their abilities. By learning how to use and demonstrate all the functions of a graphing calculator, my students will be given the confidence they are yearning for.

My students are at a disadvantage when it comes to using technology in the classroom.

They will be excited to see how fun and useful graphing can be. My students are fun and full of excitement and ready to learn something new.
