This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My fourth grade students absolutely love to read! Graphic novels are a type of text that combine words and images (sort of like a comic) to tell a story. Our classroom library has some graphic novels, but students have been requesting more titles to be added.

Having a variety of new graphic novels will engage students in reading to improve their stamina and love of literature.

Some titles I'm requesting include the Magic Tree House graphic novels, Sports Illustrated Kids, Baby-Sitters Club and the Science Comics series. Students will read these graphic novels by themselves or with a friend during our Daily 5 literacy block.

In addition, the five chair pockets I am requesting will be used to store student books and materials at their desk. Thank you so much for considering my project.
